Why don't you go and ask him?

  • I don't think there's anything remotely Christian about rejoicing about anyone's suffering, even an enemy.

"You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you salute only your brethren, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same?" - Matthew 5:43-47

  • Hello "FUNKY DUNG"-

I am a little perturbed by your handle...but anyway's...thank you for your comment!

I am not rejoicing in someone's suffering but am trying to find humor in evil and potentially apocalyptic times. You don't know what I am feeling and we don't know if this man is "suffering".

If he did, I am not rejoicing.

Could I comment on something? I was not amused when you and your Pittsburgh Catholic "police" posted on the Internet about my groups position on Evolution and your comments where you called us "nuts". Is that a Christian things to do? Are you mocking or judging me? How dare you come off as a superior judge of character with my post that was meant as a humorous post in the face of what seems to be a re-emergence of the Islamic Crusades and sit there at your blog called "ALES RARUS" and call people derogatory names? Why? Because I refuse to share the same viewpoint as you? Aren't you on the line of bearing false witness in both these cases? Not for me to judge but I am sure all of Roman Catholic Pittsburgh, PA would love to hear you discuss it.

You know a verse comes to my mind to:

    James 4:11
Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. He who speaks evil of a brother and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge.

Question: Are you my brother Ales Rarus or is the Islamic burning the flag...because the one who is prone to persecute my Christian brothers and sisters, I will not call a brother but I will forgive them for they know not what they do...

  • I am a little perturbed by your handle

Why? If you'd like to know its orgin, click the "About Funky Dung" link on my blog.

You don't know what I am feeling and we don't know if this man is "suffering".

You find it humorous that he got burned and last I checked getting burned hurts - a lot.

If he did, I am not rejoicing.

That's good to know. The apparent schadenfreude is still a little disturbing, though.

Could I comment on something? I was not amused when you and your Pittsburgh Catholic "police" posted on the Internet about my groups position on Evolution and your comments where you called us "nuts".

    1. What does Pittsburgh have to do with anything?
    2. What do you mean by "police"? To my knowledge, none of my readers harassed you in any way.

Is that a Christian things to do?

No, and I offer my sincere apologies. I've amended the offending post and added the following text.

"In response to a conversation at Bible Truth Zone, I have changed the summary for the post I linked to. The original text was unbefitting of a Christian, particularly in reference to another Christian. I ask for the forgiveness of the post's author and my readers."

    James 4:11
Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. He who speaks evil of a brother and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge.

    You're right. I'm wrong. I apoligize.

Question: Are you my brother Ales Rarus or is the Islamic burning the flag

Both are. Reread the Good Samaritan parable to find out who Jesus says are our neighbors (i.e., our brothers).

  • Funky Dung-

I accept your apology and ask your forgiveness also because I took your name in vain when you called us a "nut". I have never run into anyone online yet that has sent us a genuine apology and am eager to follow your example. God bless you. And thank you for your humility that I can also use more of.

May I take a moment to explain to you the real feeling I had when I posted these pictures...I did laugh and I still find it funny...yes it is schadenfreude...
The reason for the schadenfreude is that I am insulted by so many people around the world burning the flag that so many have died for. I grew up with 5 people in my family because of war, (no uncles, no aunts, no cousins, no grandparents) all due to the horrific evil events of war in the last century. I am deeply bothered by the chanting of "Death to America" and the constant burning of our flag. I am all for freedom of expression and fight for it myself...but the burning of our flag from people in the Middle East seems to coincide with a genuine desire to wish destruction, pain, and suffering on innocent American citizens...why aren't people addressing the point that I, as an American citizen, DO NOT know why the Middle East hates me and my country? There seems to be a serious lack of justice...and I felt that this individual burning the flag was abruptly reminded that if you play with fire you may get burned...and found humor in this...but fell short of actually contemplating the injuries he may have sustained and the amount of suffering he may have endured.

Again, thank you for your time, your comments, and your forgiveness. God Bless.
