           THIRTEEN

                I. Adam to Seth

                         Genesis 4:8

Now Cain talked with Abel his brother; and it came to pass.
when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel
   his brother and killed him.

                         Genesis 4:25

Adam lay with his wife again, and she gave birth to a son
and named him Seth, saying, "God has granted me another
child in place of Abel, since Cain killed him."

                         Genesis 5:3

When Adam lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness,
in his own image; and he named him Seth.

   If Seth's birth = Adam's age of 130 years...

Then the number associated with Seth = 130 years.

         0 = nothing...zero's don't count
Number associated with Seth = 13

13 is a symbolic number that represents God's
chosen bloodline and His chosen people!!!

<<< SETH carries on the bloodline of Adam! >>>

<<< SETH inherits the firstborn rights >>>

<SETH and his line is represented by the number 13>

NOTE #1:

Abel is not blotted out forever after Cain kills him...
he is put back in as one of the 24 Elders.

Read: Who are the 24 Elders?

                 II. The 13 Tribes

                        Genesis 35:22b-26

22b Now the sons of Jacob were twelve:
23 the sons of Leah were Reuben, Jacob's firstborn, and
     Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun;
24   the sons of Rachel were Joseph and Benjamin;
25 the sons of Bilhah, Rachel's maidservant, were Dan and
     Naphtali;
26 and the sons of Zilpha, Leah's maidservant, were Gad, and
Asher. These were the sons of Jacob who were born to him
     in Padan Aram.

The Sons of Jacob listed respectively from chapters 29 & 30
                   of Genesis are:

                    1. Reuben
                    2. Simeon
                    3. Levi
                    4. Judah
                    5. Dan
                    6. Naphtali
                    7. Gad
                    8. Asher
                    9. Issachar
                   10. Zebulun
                   11. Joseph
                   12. Benjamin

                   Genesis 48:21-22

21 Then Israel said to Joseph, "Behold, I am dying, but God
will be with you and bring you back to the land of your
    fathers.
22 Moreover I have given to you one portion above your
brothers, which I took from the hand of the Amorite with
    my sword and my bow

Because Joseph was sold into captivity by his
brothers and mistreated, God gives Joseph a
double portion of inheritance. The double
blessing is passed through his two sons:
          Ephraim and Manasseh.

               Genesis 48: 5-6

5 "And now your two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, who were
born to you in the land of Egypt before I came to you in
Egypt, are mine; as Reuben and Simeon, they shall be mine.
6  "Your offspring whom you beget after them shall be yours;
they will be called by the name of their brothers in their
   inheritance.

Joseph is removed and his two sons are put back
in, in Joseph's place. They are adopted by their
grandfather Jacob, who was later re-named ISRAEL.

                   Genesis 48:17-20

17 Now when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand
on the head of Ephraim, it displeased him; so he took
hold of his father's hand to remove it from Ephraim's
    head to Manasseh's head.
18 And Joseph said to his father, "Not so, my father, for
this one is the firstborn; put your right hand on his
    head."
19 But his father refused and said, "I know, my son, I know.
    He also shall become a people, and he also shall be great;
but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he,
and his descendents shall be become a multitude of nations.
20 So he plessed them that day saying, "By you Israel will
bless, saying, 'May God make you as Ephraim and as
Manasseh!'" And thus he set Ephraim before Manasseh.

Even though Manasseh is older, God decided to
change the rules and give Ephraim the greater
                  blessing.

Ephraim is the youngest of all the
     brothers....Ephraim is number 13!!

Ephraim not only receives the blessing over his
brother Manasseh, but over all the other brothers
and receives the rights to the father's name...
              the name Israel.

Throughout the Old Testament Prophets, when
Ephraim is mentioned, the name "Israel" is
usually mentioned in the same prophecy (see part IV).

We never see this with Reuben, who is
          Israel's firstborn son.

The tribe of Ephraim represents the Northern tribes
of Israel in the time of the kings.

The tribe of Levi is made the priestly line.
Levi is taken out of the land distribution and
receives the tithes of the people as their
                inheritance.

There are in fact 13 tribes within the 12!!

                1. Reuben
                    2. Simeon
                    3. Levi >>>>(PRIEST LINE)<<<<
                    4. Judah
                    5. Dan
                    6. Naphtali
                    7. Gad
                    8. Asher
                    9. Issachar
                   10. Zebulun
                   11. Benjamin
                   12. Manasseh >>>>(Joseph is taken out)<<<<
                   13. Ephraim

<<Ephraim receives the rights of the firstborn!<<
   <<Ephraim receives the greater blessing!>>

Ephraim receives the right to the father's name
               the name Israel!

             III. The 13 Apostles

                      Matthew 10:2-4

2 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these: first Simon,
who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother, James the son
   of Zebedee, and John his brother;
3  Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector;
James the son of Alphaeus, and Labbaeus, whose surname was
   Thaddaeus;
4 Simon the Cananite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed Him.

                       1. Simon (Peter)
                       2. Andrew
                       3. James
                       4. John
                       5. Philip
                       6. Bartholomew
                       7. Thomas
                       8. Matthew
                       9. James (the son of Alphaeus)
                      10. Lebbaeus (Thaddaeus)
                      11. Simon (the Cananite)
                      12. Judas Iscariot

Judas is removed after betraying Jesus,
         then Judas commits suicide:

                Matthew 27: 3-5

3 Then Judas, His betrayer, seeing that He has been condemned,
was remorseful and brought back the thirty pieces of silver
to the chief priests and elders,
4 saying, "I have sinned by betraying innocent blood." And
they said, "What is that to us? You see to it!"
5 Then he threw down the pieces of silver in the temple and
departed, and went and hanged himself.

Matthias is put back in place of Judas,
               making 12 again:

                 Acts 1: 24-26

24 And they prayed and said, "You, O Lord, who know the hearts
of all, show which of these two You have chosen.
25 "to take part in this ministry and apostleship from which
Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own
   place."
26 And they cast their lots, and the lot fell on Matthias.
And he was numbered with the eleven apostles.

As far as we know in Acts, Matthias doesn't do
too much...in fact it is safe to say that he
didn't seem to do anything at all and he is
never mentioned again besides Acts 1:26.

       So Jesus Himself calls Paul
to be joined with them as an apostle,
            Paul is number 13!

                Acts 9: 15-17

15 But the Lord sid to him, "Go, for he (Paul)is a chosen
vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings,
   and the children of Israel.
16 "For I will show him how many things he must suffer for my
   name's sake."
17 and Ananias went his way and entered the house; and laying
his hands on him he said, "Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus,
who appeared to you on the road as you came, has sent me
that you may receive your sight and be filled with the
   Holy Spirit."

                    Romans 1: 1 & 5

1 Paul, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle,
seperated to the gospel of God
5 Through Him we have received grace and apostleship for
obedience to the faith among all nations for His name.

                       1. Simon (Peter)
                       2. Andrew
                       3. James
                       4. John
                       5. Philip
                       6. Bartholomew
                       7. Thomas
                       8. Matthew
                       9. James (son of Alphaeus)
                      10. Lebbaeus (Thaddaeus)
                      11. Simon (the Cananite)
                      12. Matthias >>>Judas Iscariot taken out<<<
                      13. Paul

<<Paul was the most influential apostle<<
   <<<Paul wrote 3/4 of the New Testament!<<<
<<<The Reformation was built on Paul's doctrine!<<<

Before we proceed, let us take a step back and consider a few
patterns and similarities that need to be recognized.....

Note #1:
This concept of 'taking out' and 'putting back in' is
God's way of doing things. From Abel (as one of the 24
Elders), to Seth (who carries the "chosen" blood line),
to the Sons of Israel (in both inheritances: the land
distribution and God's remnant of 144,000 during the
Tribulation), to the Apostles of Jesus,(the outcome
of Judas Iscariot being taken out, being replaced by
lot with Matthias, and then Jesus selecting His
        own choice who was Paul).

Note #2:

Throughout the Old Testament, God often ignores man's
tradition by skipping over the first born male and
passing the first born's blessing on to the youngest
or a younger brother. Example: Cain and Seth,
Japheth and Shem, Ishmael and Isaac, Esau and Jacob,
Joseph and his 11 brothers, Manasseh and Ephraim,
David and his 7 older brothers, Solomon and his 7
        older brothers.

Note #3:

King David (Old Testament) is among the most important
and revered king (and person) in Jewish history. Paul
(New Testament) is one of the most important apostles
of the early Church. Both of their lives have lasting
impact to this day. Both of these people did not seem
to fit the part that they were destined for: David,
a lowly shepherd boy, and Paul, a Pharisee and
persecuter of Christians. Neither of these would have
been chosen by a man or by men, but the LORD hand-picked
these people and called them to duty Himself.

A very crucial point to understand and reflect on...

THE LORD GOD WILL DO WHATEVER HE WANTS, WITH WHOEVER
HE WANTS....and when THE LORD GOD SPEAKS, IT CAN'T
BE UNDONE...IT MUST HAPPEN... AND IT DOES HAPPEN!!!

"Behold, MY ways are not your ways"

              IV. The 13 Colonies

In this lesson, remember that Ephraim IS Israel......

                        Hosea 5: 3-6

3 I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hidden from Me; for now,
O Ephraim, you commit harlotry, Israel is defiled.
4 They do not direct their deeds toward turning to their God,
for the spirit of harlotry is in their midst, and they do
  not know the LORD.
5 The pride of Israel testifies to his face; therefore Israel
and Ephraim stumble in their iniguity; Judah also stumbles
  with them.
6 With their flocks and herds they shall go to seek the LORD,
but they will not find Him: He has withdrawn from them.

An important history overview:

Read Mene Mene Tekel Upharsin lesson if you have not already done
so for more in-depth knowledge on the following summary:

1. Ephraim (Israel) goes into captivity in -745 BC
2. Ephraim is punished for its iniquity and
unwillingness to turn back to the LORD God.
3. Ephraim is punished by serving Mene Mene Tekel
   Upharsin...a sentance of time.
4. Mene is 1000 in Roman, Tekel is 20 in Hebrew,
and Upharsin is 500 in Chaldean.
5. Mene Mene Tekel Upharsin= 2520.
6. Add 1 for crossing the year zero and we have
   the equation of -745 + 1 + 2520 = 1776!
7. After serving the sentance, Ephraim (Israel)
becomes a nation again in 1776!

In 1776, the new nation of Israel (Ephraim-the
13th tribe) starts off with 13 colonies.

                Coincidence?

This new nation is clearly God's people from the
                 beginning!

It is founded on the freedom to worship the Lord
God Jesus Christ freely and without persecution.

It's very laws are founded on Judeo-Chrisitian
                 principles!

It's first capital in 1776 is the city of
                Philadelphia

Philadelphia is the same name as the city of the
Faithful Church described in Revelation 3:7-13
(Notice the chapter and verse numbers...they speak
               for themselves!)

                3= Christ
                7= perfection
                37 is Christ's number!

See the lesson called Thirty-Seven if you have not read it yet.

Let us look at the numbers involved with the
United States to teach this abstract truth...

               UNITED STATES =

13 colonies ADDED TO 37 states!

    13 (EPHRAIM) + 37 (JESUS) = 50 states

There were 48 continental states...Alaska and Hawaii MUST be
added in order to make 50.
After Alaska and Hawaii...there CANNOT be any more states added.

               UNITED STATES = 50

             Zero's don't count

             UNITED STATES = 5

5 is the number of God's Grace

Read the lesson The Meaning of the Simple Numbers

Truly God's Grace has been on these
         United States Of America!!

                   AMEN!!!
